This year marks the third year in the district for me, Joel T. Fey, as your building principal. It is my 25th year in education and 12th as a building administrator. I am married to my wife of 24 years, Sea, and we have two children, TJ, a police officer for the city of Cedar Falls, and Alli, a senior nursing student at Grand View University. We are all very humbled to members of the Waukee Community School District and Shuler family.
I graduated from Grand View University in 1995 and received my master’s degree from Drake University in 2003. My teaching career has led me to Whiting Community Schools, West Marshall Community Schools and 19 years in Nevada.
Our number one priority at Shuler will be developing relationships that produce leaders who take risks, are problem finders and understand that failure is just a means to improve. Our job is to motivate the scientists, authors, doctors, nurses and future educators that walk our halls. We will create a climate where new ideas are celebrated, where we are continually evolving to improve student and staff learning.
Thank you for the privilege of educating your child, and thank you for trusting us to do so.
